Get your fill of more than sake at Ittoku, which specializes in Japanese small plates and sushi. It’s more of a mid-range sushi restaurant, but still much better than much of what you can find in Boston, which tends to be small takeout/delivery joints that also serve Chinese and Korean dishes, or an all-you-can-eat restaurant. Open seven days a week from 5 p.m. until 11 or so, reservations are accepted if you’re on a tight timeline.
Here’s what to expect when ordering from Ittoku: quick appetizers, salad, otsumami, sashimi, yakitori, hot plates, sushi, meals, and rolls.
Be on the lookout for specials like deep-fried baby octopus, stew cubed Berkshire pork with soft boiled egg, and a whole lot more adventurous fare.
Restaurant Review:
Some of my favorites: the Italian sub, the Farmer's Special, The Austin, and the breakfast wrap.
